The Power of the Story

Jun 21, 2026

June 2020

Anyone else feel a bit...raw?! With a global pandemic, sickening videos displaying hatred, and "regular" life challenges, we are certainly facing a lot.

Jesus taught parables or stories that were powerful and had the ability to change us. Each one of us has a story (or testimony) to share. This past week I have been truly humbled by asking people more about their story and learning.

My question to you...what is a story you want to share? What can I learn from you? How can I mourn with you if you are mourning, or rejoice with you as you rejoice?

With love and humility,

Liz

Why is storytelling powerful in leadership?

Stories make ideas memorable, create emotional connection, and help people see themselves in a vision, which facts alone rarely do.

How can leaders use stories well?

Tell true, specific stories tied to the point you're making, keep them short, and let the meaning land rather than over-explaining it.
